On February 5th and 6th, 2026, the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Valladolid (UVa) will host a key debate on the latest advances in schizophrenia research. Within the framework of “La Marató” Project, these VII Update Sessions offer a scientific journey ranging from cortical dysfunction to the search for biotypes based on neurobiological evidence.
Why Attend?
Current approaches to psychosis require moving beyond traditional DSM classifications to understand the clinical and biological heterogeneity of patients. In this meeting, experts from national and international institutions (such as the University of New South Wales and the University of California, San Francisco) will analyze:
- Cortical and Inhibitory Dysfunction: New findings through EEG studies and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) paradigms.
- Cognitive Biotypes: How cognitive performance and brain activity allow for the definition of specific profiles within the psychotic spectrum.
- Mechanisms of Self-Experience: An in-depth analysis of auditory hallucinations, inner speech, and subjectivity as a core axis of psychiatric research.
Key Event Details:
- Dates: February 5th and 6th, 2026.
- Hybrid Format: In-person (Salón de Grados, Faculty of Medicine, UVa) and Online.
- Registration: Free of charge.
- Capacity: Limited to 50 in-person and 50 online spots.
- Target Audience: Psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, nursing staff, social workers, occupational therapists, engineers, and researchers.
- Language: mainly Spanish, except for international presentations.
This conference represents a unique opportunity to catch up on cutting-edge techniques, such as source analysis with MNE-Python and the study of corollary discharge mechanisms in the alteration of self-experience.
Register now! The registration period is open until February 5th, 2026.
